Tornado on the sun
For a 30 hour spell - on February 7 and 8, 2012 - NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory captured plasma caught in a magnetic dance across the Sun's surface. The results closely resemble extreme tornadic activity on Earth. A solar physicist at NASA said the tornado might be as large as the Earth itself and have gusts up to 300,000 miles per hour.
